Plastindia International University is set up with a vision to build a world-class Center of Excellence in Plastics technology and entrepreneurship. This Green Field University is located in Vapi. State of Gujarat, two hours from Mumbai, financial capital of India and 20 kms from sea shore of Daman. The University is promoted by Plastindia Foundation which is the APEX body of major Associations, Organizations & Institutions of Plastics industry.
The University will offer undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, executive education, continuing education and skill development programs in Plastics, Chemical & Mechanical engineering, management and select research areas to support India's flourishing Plastics industry. PIU has entered into partnership service agreement with UMass Lowell, USA to develop engineering programs and train faculty. UMass Lowell offers high ranked Plastics engineering program.
PROVOST
The Provost shall be the principal executive and academic officer of the University. The Provost will be responsible for overall academic and research development and financial and advancement activities of the University. He shall be responsible to execute vision and mission laid out by governing body of the University as per the requirement of Plastics industry in India at large.
The Provost should have a doctorate degree or other high academic qualifications with at least 10 years of experience as Dean / Professor in academic / research organization. The candidate with 20-25 years of experience in industry research and passion for building academic institution can also apply. International experience in academic and research will be preferred. Young, dynamic & deserving candidates will also be considered.
REGISTRAR.........................................................
Registrar is the administrative head of the University and has the authority and accountability of all administrative matters of the University. The Registrar will serve as the official authorized keeper of University's records. A strong administrative acumen with suitable understanding of academics, with the ability to network and liaison with regulatory bodies and government agencies, and a proactive approach to work would be desirable attributes.
The Registrar should have Master's Degree or its equivalent grade with at least 15 years of administrative experience, of which 8 years shall be as Deputy Registrar or an equivalent post or comparable experience in research establishment and/or other institution of higher education. Young, dynamic and deserving candidates will also be considered.
PIU is also looking for Faculty in the disciplines of Plastics, Chemical and Mechanical Engineering for teaching as well as cutting-edge research. Selected candidates will also be trained at UMass Lowell. Please watch our website for further announcements for the recruitment of Faculty.
