Walk-in-Interview in Nalanda University - Assistant Librarian, Assistant Manager (Systems) on 27th September 2014


Job title: Assistant Librarian (1 position)

Qualification:
 Masters Degree in Library Science with at least 50% marks at Graduate and Post Graduate level. At least 2 years experience in a University or any large library with exposure to modern library techniques.

Age: Below 40 Year as on 1 Sept 2014.
Salary: Consolidate Salary of Rs. 45,000/-

Duties & Responsibility:

  • Maintaining the library as a learning resource centre for all the stakeholders of the University.
  • Provide service to faculty & students as appropriate in an international university.
  • Actively participate in acquisition of books, journals and other knowledge resources.
  • Manage the Library Budget.
  • Ensure that the library is set up as a modern entity using technological tools.
The candidate is expected to have adequate knowledge in the library system, services and hands on experience in a fairly large library. Good communication skills, result orientation and team building qualities are essential.
Instruction to Candidates for the post of Asst. Librarian
Candidates should report at 9:00 am on 27 September at the Students Hall, Hotel Tathagat, Rajgir, District- Nalanda, Bihar- 803 116.
They should register themselves between 9:00 & 10:00 am. Only those candidates who have registered between 9:00 to 10:00 am will be interviewed.
Candidates are advised to carry a copy of their bio-data and self attested    copies of all certificates in support of their education & experience.
No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.

Job title: Assistant Manager(Systems) (1 position)
Qualification:
Essential:
  • Bachelor’s (4-year) degree, with a technical major, such as, computer science/IT or Computer Application.
  • Four to six years system / network handling experience.
Desirable:
  • Certification or Diploma in Network/ System Administration from any renowned institution or body.
  • Any course on web design/development.
Age: Below 40 Years
Salary: Consolidate Salary of Rs. 45,000/-

Duties & Responsibility:

The IT officer is responsible for all the IT related support such as provisioning, installation of Software, configuration, operation and maintenance of IT related infrastructure such as system hardware and software. The person should be enthusiastic enough to participate in the building of complete IT infrastructure for the university. He should be able to manage the related procedures in adherence to the organizational values
Apart from maintaining the systems as mentioned above, the person should be about able to establish and manage different topologies of computer networks, to be laid down in the University. He should have full knowledge of Wi-Fi configurations and various protocols used for accomplishing such jobs.
Although, not exhaustive, the list of duties may be elaborated as follows:
  • Install new / rebuild and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
  •  Establishing LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi etc, wherever required.
  • Configuration and maintenance of various servers, such as File Server, Mail Server, Routing Servers etc.
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
  • Securing the system and network from internal/external threats and possible intrusions.
  • Framing and implementing back up policy in consultation with various users.
  •  Create, change, and delete user accounts as per request.
  • Troubleshoot whenever and wherever required. Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. 
  •  Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary.
  •  Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.  Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.
DESIRABLE FUNCTION:
  • The person should have exposure to office automation software, packages and ERP.
  • The person should be conversant enough to lend a helping hand for online promotional activities of the university.
  • The person should have the expertise of getting the things done for the development and maintenance of university website.
