J&K Special Scholarship Scheme (SSS) 2014-15
J&K SSS for the session 2014-15

The Department of Higher Education. Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India is implementing a Special Scholarship Scheme for J&K (SSS J&K) from the year 2011 for the students belonging to J&K who, after passing Class XII or equivalent examination from J&K secure admission in institutions located outside the State of J&K. An Inter-Ministerial Committee (IMC), of MHRD on Special Scholarship Scheme, chaired by Secretary (Higher Education), in its 2'' meeting held on 23rd August, 2012, decided to create Two Supernumerary Seats across all the institutes/colleges for this purpose.
Accordingly. UGC vide D.O. No: F.1-1/2012(SA-III) dated: 01.10.2012 and AICTE vide Letter No. R5-84/2012/AICTE/J&K(Seats)/1016dated: 08.11.2012 respectively issued instructions for creation of Two (02) Supernumerary Seats in institutions under Section 2(f) and 12(b) and AICTE approved institutions respectively.
For the Academic Year 2014-15, IMC in its 10r meeting held on 17* April, 2014 approved the procedure of admissions for TWO (02) supernumerary seats based on counseling. Accordingly, AICTE is conducting Counseling from 30.08.2014 to 05.09.2014 at S PCollege. Srinagar.
Further. The Hon'ble Supreme Court of India vide its order date 29.08.2014
passed in IA No, 53 in civil appeal No 9048 of 2012 has extended the cutoff date
for admission of J&K students under the aforesaid Special Scholarship Scheme
(SSS) of MHRD, Government of India, for academic session 2014-15 up to
5,KSeptember2014.
All the Institutions to which such students are allotted seats through the
Centralized Counseling, are hereby informed that:
1.  The Student admitted is directed to report within ONE WEEK from the date as listed in the Provisional Offer Letter issued to the student.
2.  All the original documents should be verified by the institute.
3.  The tuition fee, hostel fee and other incidental charges of students admitted under the scheme will be paid, as per actuals, by MHRD, Government of India, through AICTE within the limits mentioned in the "Guidelines for Special Scholarship Scheme 2014-2015" available at http://aicte-jk-scholarship.in>AcademicYear>2014-15.
4.  The Institute shall submit claims for tuition fee, hostel fee and other incidental charges in respect of the students, to AICTE, in prescribed Performa available at http://aicte-jk-scholarship.in>Academic Year>2014-15>lnstruction, as per guidelines of the scheme, within 30 days from the reporting date of candidate.
