ONGC Tripura Power Company Limited (OTPC) is setting up a 726.6 MW Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT with 9FA machine) thermal power plant in the state of Tripura at Palatana to supply power to entire North-Eastern Region of the country. First unit of 363.3 MW has been commissioned on 4,h January, 2014 and second unit commissioning is expected soon. The Palatana site is located on Udaipur - Kakraban road at about 9 kms from the District head quarters of Udaipur and is about 60 kms from the capital city of Agartala. The site is connected by a state highway to Udaipur with onward connectivity to Agartala by NH -44.
