B. Chandrakala
is a 2008 batch IAS officer of UP cader. She is widely respected as one of the
most honest and hard – working IAS officers of UP in the contemporary times.
She is also quite beautiful and many say that if you are looking for an example
of a ‘beauty with brain’ in India, then you need to look for B. Chandrakala.
There is many
other facets of her life which is simply aspiring and gives hope to millions of
teenage girls in India who are dreaming to do big in their lives. It is a
matter of great satisfaction that such a wonderful officer belongs to Scheduled
Tribes (ST). In fact, she succeeded in getting IAS just because of her ST
status. But, seeing her work and performance, one can safely say that she has
completely justified her selection.
Profile of B. Chandrakala
Chandrakala was
born on 27th September, 1979 in Garjana Palli Village of Karimnagar
District in Telangana (then, Andhra Pradesh). She belongs to Lambadi tribes
and, in fact, she had mentioned her mother tongue as Lambadi in the Detailed
Application Form (DAF) for UPSC Civil Services Mains Examination.
Chandrakala was
a bright student since her school days. After completing her schooling, she
started to dream about becoming an IAS officer. She took admission in Osmania
University, Hyderabad and did graduation in Geography with First Division. She
started preparation for Civil Services after this and also enrolled for M.A. in
Economics with Distant learning with the same University.
Chandrakala
cracked UPSC Civil Services Examination in 2008 and secured an All India Rank
of 470. Being ST, it was easy to get her first choice of service – IAS. It
should be noted that with this All India Rank, a General Category candidate may
not even aspire for IRS, leave alone IAS or IPS.
Chandrakala shot
the fame when a video went viral over the social media where she was seen
punishing the corrupt in the public. She is actually a no – nonsense officer
and doesn’t compromise with her ethics. Once she filed an FIR on a young guy
because he was trying to get a selfie with her.
It is also said
that Chandrakala is hungry for publicity. She is quite sensitive about her
public image. She regularly shares her images on her Twitter and Facebook
accounts and all of these images are shared for the purpose of enhancing her
public profile. She is branding her image with meticulous planning and shrewd
use of Social Media platforms.
Chandrakala is
also not popular among politicians. She has got many transfers in her short
career. However, wherever she went, the work culture of district got changed
for positive.
Chandrakala was
recently transferred to the Union Government and made deputy secretary of
Drinking Water and Sanitation. Many believe that she was punished because as a
Meerut DM she had done work against wishes of some BJP politicians,
particularly Sakshi Maharaj and Sangeet Som. However, there are many who
believe that she was called by the Union Government as Modi badly need a
powerful hand for his ‘Swachh Mission’. Chandrakala who had spearheaded cleanliness
drives in Meerut and Bulandshahr became a choice for Modi to make India clean
by 2019.
Husband of B. Chandrakala
Chandrakala is
married to A. Ramulu who works as an Executive Engineer with Sri Ram Sagar
Project. It should be noted that Chandrakala and Ramulu got married when she
was studying in the second year of her B. A. The couple has a daughter. In
fact, Chandrakal cracked UPSC Civil Services Examination after becoming a
mother.
Needless to say,
Chandrakala is not living with her husband because of different locations and their
dedication to work.
