Plastindia International University is set to launch a world-class Center of Excellence in Plastics Engineering and Management. The University is located in Vapi. State of Gujarat, two hours from Mumbai, which is the financial capital of India and 20 kms from sea shore of Daman. The University is promoted by Plastindia Foundation, which is the APEX Body of major Associations. Organizations & Institutions of Plastics Industry. The University will offer undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, executive education, continuing education and skill development programs in engineering, management and select research areas to support India's flourishing Plastics industry. Plastindia International University has entered into partnership service agreement with UMass Lowell, USA. to develop engineering programs and train faculty. UMass Lowell has very high rank in Plastics engineering program.
Applications are invited for faculty positions at all levels Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor rank. Outstanding candidates in all areas of Plastics Engineering, Chemical Engineering. Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics. Sciences & Computer Science. Humanities and Social Sciences and interdisciplinary disciplines related to these areas will be considered. Candidates from Industry and Research Centers, who are experts in their area and have a passion for teaching can also apply for Regular and Adjunct faculty positions.
Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Plastics Engineering or a closely related field such as Chemical & Mechanical Engineering, they should be committed to excellence in both research and teaching. Support will be provided to successful applicants for establishing their research program. We strongly encourage dual career couples and candidates to apply. Nominations through Industry, Academia and Research Experts, are also encouraged as deserving candidates.
Pay structure of Faculty will be at par with IIT norms. In addition to pay. PIU will make every attempt to help faculty members settle in their academic role and to grow professionally by providing suitable initiation Grant for Research. Professional Development Allowance. One Time Relocation Allowance and Suitable Accommodation. PIU will also endeavor to set up Industry Sponsored Chair Professor Positions to support Professors with additional research grants up to 5 years. On-campus accommodation will be provided.
Select Faculty will have the opportunity to undergo nine months of training at the Plastics Engineering Department of UMass Lowell for Academic, Research and Extension Services.
