Applications on prescribed proforma are invited in three (3) sets from eligible candidates of the highest level of competence, integrity moral and institutional commitment for filling up the post of Vice-Chancellor, Nava Nalanda Mahavihara (NNM), Nalanda, Bihar, a Deemed University under the Ministry of Culture, Govt, of India. The eligibility criteria and other details are given below. Qualifications:
Essential:
Person of the highest level of competence, integrity, morals and institutional commitment shall be appointed as Vice-Chancellor. The Vice-Chancellor to be appointed shall be a distinguished academician with a minimum of ten years of experience as Professor in a University system or ten years of experience in an equivalent position in reputed research and / or academic administrative organization.
Desirable:
Doctorate Degree in Buddhist Studies / Buddhist Philosophy / Pali from
recognized University.

The Vice-Chancellor shall be a whole time salaried officer of Institution
Deemed to be University.
The Vice-Chancellor shall hold office for a term of 5 years.
He shall be eligible for a second term provided that in no case shall
he hold office beyond the age of 70 years.
Notwithstanding the expiry of the period of 5 years he/she may
continue in office for not more than six months or till his/her successor
is appointed and the latter assumes office, whichever, is earlier.
The period of deputation including the period of deputation in any
other ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in
the same or some other organization/ department of the Central
Government shall ordinarily not exceed 5 year._________________

Duly filled in applications in three sets complete in all respect, forwarded through proper channel by the concerned organization in case of departmental candidate should reach the office of the Under Secretary to the Govt, of India, Ministry of Culture, BTI Section, 2nd Floor, D-Block, Puratatva Bhawan, INA, New Delhi -110023 within 30 days from the date of publication of the advertisement for the post in the Employment News/ Rozgar Sa ma char.
