IT Security is a term which is concerned with the protection of entire data safe and secure, from the perils of disaster and external attacks (through virus, etc).  It must be ensured that the data and the information is not at all visible and disclosed to anyone.  On the other hand it is can also be defined as a way of safeguarding the information along with the information system which is concerned with the input, process, output and feedback from the environment.
Hacking Protection, takes place with the explicit permission of the company whose system is being attacked. Hacking Protection, often performed by white hats or skilled computer experts  using them for defensive purposes, In other words is the use of programming skills to determine vulnerabilities in computer systems While the Hackers or black hat exploits these vulnerabilities for mischief, personal gain or other reasons resorting to malicious or destructive activities. The security specialist evaluates them, points them out, and may suggest changes to systems that make them less likely to be penetrated by black hats.

The word hacking has strongly negative connotations, and, for the most part, rightly so. But securit specialization is much different. It takes place with the explicit permission of the company whose system is being attacked. In fact, their “good guy” role is underscored by the nickname “White Hat” Security specialist have been given. The nickname is a throwback to old Westerns where the good cowboys could be identified by their white hats. This work is ethical because it is performed to increase the safety of the computer systems

Emerging artists’ work

Canvas art paintings by Agnes Pelton, whose fame continues to grow more than a half-century after her death, will be displayed throughout City Hall for a three-month show to draw attention to the artist and the place she called home.

Public Arts Commission chairwoman Marilyn Cooper said the initial plan was to hang a couple of her pieces in one room, but as she found more and more collectors willing to loan pieces for the exhibit, it became clear “this is bigger than just the council chambers.”

“Channeling Agnes Pelton” will run from April 6 through June 27, and include up to 18 canvases to be shown on the second and third floors of City Hall, which will encompass the portraits and landscapes she painted for a living as well as the more abstract images she found most fulfilling.

“She was very interested in painting the other side, what was inside of things, the ethereal,” said Peter Palladino, who with his partner Simeon Den owns the house at 68-680 F Street Pelton built in 1939 and lived in until shortly before she died in 1961.

Pelton was a struggling artist through most of her time in the desert, but began to rise in prominence with a 1995 Palm Springs Art Museum show that was later taken on tour.“She is an emerging artist, and people who purchase her work now will be at an advantage,” Cooper said.

Pelton is often grouped with contemporaries like Georgia O’Keefe and other transcendentalist painters who were based in New Mexico, though she did not spend much time in that southwestern state. Long-distance, Pelton helped form a Transcendentalist Painters Group around the time she moved to Cathedral City.

Pelton and O’Keefe’s work were featured together in an exhibit in the Orange County Museum of Art, and Pelton was called “California’s Georgia O’Keefe“ in a lecture given in Cathedral City last March as part of the Deserts capes series of events around plain air art.

Asiaartshop: Cooper said the commission’s primary goal with this exhibit is to get Pelton recognized by the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C. Cooper said Friday she’d just been told the museum does have a file on Pelton, but doesn’t know if any of her work is included in its collection.

Bihar Girl to represent India in Miss Universe 2012 at Las Vegas

Shilpa Singh, a model hailing from Samastipur, Bihar would represent India in Miss Universe  2012 Beauty Pageant to be held at Las Vegas , US on December 19 this year.

Shilpa Singh, a Software Engineer by profession and a model by passion recently completed her engineering from NMIMS  Mumbai. She currently works for Infosys Technologies.

Shilpa Singh was the  1st runner-up of I Am She – Miss Universe India 2012  but after the winner of  I am She was dethroned due to conflict of age, the title was finally given to Shilpa who would now represent India in Miss Universe 2012 Contest at Las Vevas, Nevada United States and Miss Globe International 2013.

She was not sure about participating in any beauty pageant. One day she saw an   ad in the newspaper for ‘I AM She 2012’ and just took it by chance. “I just wanted to give it a try,” the pretty damsel recalls in an Interview to New Indian Express.

For starters, Shilpa laughs, “I’ve always been a tomboy.” That’s means, she elaborates: entering a national level pageant, she had no idea how to put on make-up, use a blow dryer and least of all, any interest in shopping.

“When my friends heard I was participating in ‘I Am She,’ they would joke and ask me: “Are you sure it’s not ‘I Am He?‘” Glancing down at her five-inch something heels, it is clear that jokes apart, her tomboy days are well behind her.

Shilpa’s Family hails from a village called Diha in Singhiya block  of Samastipur district of Bihar.  Born in Samastipur, she did her schooling at Muzaffarpur, Ranchi , Jamshedpur and Mumbai. Her Family is presently settled in Mumbai.

Chitragupta Ji Maharaj Father of Kayastha Family

Vedic Origin

The Kayastha trace their genealogy from Adi Purush Shri Chitraguptaji Maharaj. It is said that after Lord Brahma had created the four Varnas (Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Vaishyas and Shudras), Yama snonym Dharamraj requested Lord Brahma to help him record the deeds, good and evil, of men, and administer justice.
Lord Brahma went into meditation for 11000 years and when he opened his eyes he saw a man holding pen and ink-pot in his hands and a sword girdled to his waist. Lord Brahma spoke; "Thou hast been created from my body (Kaya), therefore shall thy progeny be known as the Kayasthas. Thou hast been conceived in my mind (Chitra) and in secrecy (gupta), thy name shall also be Chitragupta". Brahma then enjoined him to dispense justice and punish those who violated the dharma. Thus, the Kayasthas were accorded a dual caste, Brahmin/Kshatriya,.

Rajiv Awas Yojana (RAY)

Rajiv Awas Yojana (RAY) envisages a “Slum Free India" with inclusive and equitable cities in which every citizen has access to basic civic infrastructure and social amenities and decent shelter.

Mission
Encourage States/Union Territories (UTs) to tackle slums in a definitive manner, by focusing on:
  1. Bringing all existing slums, notified or non-notified (including recognised and identified) within the formal system and enabling them to avail the basic amenities that is available for the rest of the city/UA;
  2. Redressing the failures of the formal system that lie behind the creation of slums by planning for affordable housing stock for the urban poor and initiating crucial policy changes required for facilitating the same.
Objectives:
  1. Improving and provisioning of housing, basic civic infrastructure and social amenities in intervened slums.
  2. Enabling reforms to address some of the causes leading to creation of slums.
  3. Facilitating a supportive environment for expanding institutional credit linkages for the urban poor.
  4. Institutionalizing mechanisms for prevention of slums including creation of affordable housing stock.
  5. Strengthening institutional and human resource capacities at the Municipal, City and State levels through comprehensive capacity building and strengthening of resource networks.
  6. Empowering community by ensuring their participation at every stage of decision making through strengthening and nurturing Slum Dwellers’ Association/Federations.
RAY is to be implemented in a mission mode and will provide financial support to States/UTs/Urban Local Bodies (ULBs)/Central Government Agencies, hereafter called implementing agencies, for providing housing and improvement of basic civic infrastructure and social amenities in each selected slums. Rental and transit housing will be admissible under the scheme. Operation and maintenance (O&M) of assets created under this scheme will also be eligible for funding.

Aajeevika - National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM)

Aajeevika - National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM) was launched by the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD), Government of India in June 2011. Aided in part through investment support by the World Bank, the Mission aims at creating efficient and effective institutional platforms of the rural poor enabling them to increase household income through sustainable livelihood enhancements and improved access to financial services.
NRLM has set out with an agenda to cover 7 Crore rural poor households, across 600 districts, 6000 blocks, 2.5 lakh Gram Panchayats and 6 lakh villages in the country through self-managed Self Help Groups (SHGs) and federated institutions and support them for livelihoods collectives in a period of 8-10 years. In addition, the poor would be facilitated to achieve increased access to their rights, entitlements and public services, diversified risk and better social indicators of empowerment. NRLM believes in harnessing the innate capabilities of the poor and complements them with capacities (information, knowledge, skills, tools, finance and collectivization) to participate in the growing economy of the country.

NRLM implementation is in a Mission Mode. This enables (a) shift from the present allocation based strategy to a demand driven strategy enabling the states to formulate their own livelihoods-based poverty reduction action plans, (b) focus on targets, outcomes and time bound delivery, (c) continuous capacity building, imparting requisite skills and creating linkages with livelihoods opportunities for the poor, including those emerging in the organized sector, and (d) monitoring against targets of poverty outcomes. As NRLM follows a demand driven strategy, the States have the flexibility to develop their livelihoods-based perspective plans and annual action plans for poverty reduction. The overall plans would be within the allocation for the state based on inter-se poverty ratios.

NRLM Mission

"To reduce poverty by enabling the poor households to access gainful self-employment and skilled wage employment opportunities, resulting in appreciable improvement in their livelihoods on a sustainable basis, through building strong grassroots institutions of the poor."

NRLM Guiding Principles

  • Poor have a strong desire to come out of poverty, and they have innate capabilities
  • Social mobilization and building strong institutions of the poor is critical for unleashing the innate capabilities of the poor.
  • An external dedicated and sensitive support structure is required to induce the social mobilization, institution building and empowerment process.
  • Facilitating knowledge dissemination, skill building, access to credit, access to marketing, and access to other livelihoods services underpins this upward mobility.

NRLM Values

The core values which guide all the activities under NRLM are as follows:
  • Inclusion of the poorest, and meaningful role to the poorest in all the processes
  • Transparency and accountability of all processes and institutions
  • Ownership and key role of the poor and their institutions in all stages – planning, implementation, and, monitoring
  • Community self-reliance and self-dependence

Short Description of the Book The Memsaheb by  Rashmi Singh
Helped by a young British officer Steven Smith to escape the heinous and brutal massacre at Mangadh on 17th November, 1913, she was emotionally and physically trapped by ‘Amma’, the shrewd caretaker of Jharkhand’s Nawab. Forcibly married to the Nawab of Jharkhand, self-exploration of life leads her into the arms of the handsome Rehan Khan who falls in love with this thin, dusky woman after being jilted by his beautiful British beloved, Anna Thomas. Deserted and cheated by her eunuch Guru, Naseeba Miyaan, destiny brings her to share a dangerously passionate relationship with Steven Smith, her saviour of Mangadh massacre. Though addicted to wines, she was valiant and the queen of hearts who avenges her mother’s rape and her clan’s massacre at Mangadh from the Bhuretias…the angrez... She was ‘The Memsaheb’!

Bihar exam board to link exams with Aadhar

The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) is set to become the countrys first state exam board which will link students examination forms with their Aadhar numbers to avoid duplication as well as facilitate easy access of documents to students via digital lockers.

The novel initiative will be implemented soon -- from the BSEBs compartmental exams scheduled for November. While submitting the examination forms, students will have to specify whether or not they have Aadhar numbers. Those who have, will have to mention it on their forms. All school students who do not have, are requested to apply for it so that they can also benefit from the move, BSEB chairman Anand Kishor told media persons on Saturday.

HAPPY TEACHERS DAY

The birth date (5 September 1888) of the second President of India, Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, is celebrated, where teachers and students report to school as usual but the usual activities and classes are replaced by activities of celebration, thanks and remembrance. In some schools, on this day senior students take the responsibility of teaching in order to show their appreciation for the teachers.
Another day set aside for commemorating teachers in India and Nepal is Guru Purnima, also called Ashadh Shukla Pournima. It typically falls in mid-July.

Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan About this sound listen (help·info) (5 September 1888 – 17 April 1975) was an Indian philosopher and statesman who was the first Vice President of India (1952–1962) and the second President of India from 1962 to 1967.

One of Indias most distinguished twentieth-century scholars of comparative religion and philosophy, his academic appointments included the King George V Chair of Mental and Moral Science at the University of Calcutta (1921–1932) and Spalding Professor of Eastern Religion and Ethics at University of Oxford (1936–1952).

His philosophy was grounded in Advaita Vedanta, reinterpreting this tradition for a contemporary understanding. He defended Hinduism against "uninformed Western criticism", contributing to the formation of contemporary Hindu identity. He has been influential in shaping the understanding of Hinduism, in both India and the west, and earned a reputation as a bridge-builder between India and the West.

Radhakrishnan was awarded several high awards during his life, including a knighthood in 1931, the Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award in India, in 1954, and honorary membership of the British Royal Order of Merit in 1963. Radhakrishnan believed that "teachers should be the best minds in the country". Since 1962, his birthday is celebrated in India as Teachers Day on 5 September.
