Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) will announce the results of it’s Rajasthan Administrative Services (RAS) Preliminary examination 2016 on or before September 15.
The news comes in as a major update for the aspirants who have taken RAS Pre 2016 exam since it’s for the first time RPSC is preparing to declare results in such a short span of time.
The preliminary exam was conducted on August 28 in which over 3 lakh applicants appeared. The Commission is currently analyzing the objections submitted by the candidates against the answer key published by the RPSC.
rajasthan-public-service-commissionThe official notification for RAS 2016 exam to fill around 725 administrative posts was issued by the Commission on April 28 and the application process was wrapped between May 10 to June 25. A total of 4,09,474 candidates had applied for the Rajasthan Administrative Services exam, however, only 3,03,721 candidates appeared for the exam. The exam was organised across all district headquarters on August 28.
As the exam was successfully conducted on Sunday, the Commission uploaded the question paper for RAS/RTS Combined Competitive Exam – 2016 (Pre) G.K and G.S on August 29. The initial answer key was also released on August 30 and accordingly, the objections were invited from the candidates from August 31 to September 2.
As per the initial reports, candidates have raised objections to the answers of 88 questions depicted in the official answer key released by the Commission. Of these, more than 2 candidates have objected to 22 questions, while other 66 questions have drawn objections from only 1 candidate (different individuals). In the previous RAS exam, the Commission had received objections to all the questions.
The Commission, as per the rule, has set up an expert panel to observe the challenges and prepare a recommendation report. The panel is expected to file its report on September 9, following which the final answer key would be released by the RPSC. The RAS Pre result would be prepared on the basis of the final answer key.
Questions removed from the exam
The Commission had already removed 3 questions from the exam, which means that only 147 questions would be checked for all the candidates ahd the merit/result would be prepared on the basis of candidates’ performance in these 147 questions. Questions number 58, 113 and 126 have been removed from the evaluation process, as mentioned in the answer key released by the Commission.
The expert panel has, in its initial observation, discarded the objections filed by the candidates. The expert cited that the candidates have not submitted material proof in regard to their objections and in such cases where the proof has been submitted, they are wrong.
RPSC RAS result (Pre) would be announced within next seven days and the Commission has also decided to conduct the RAS Main exam in December.
